Exports decreased by a year-over-year 3.0% and imports by 7.6% in Catalonia in February 2024.

By economic destination, exports of intermediate goods dropped by 12.4% and capital goods by 7.2%; however, those of consumer goods grew by 12.9%. By geographical areas, the increases in sales in North America (6.9%) and in the European Union (2.8%) stand out; on the other hand, the decreases in Central and South America (−17.7%), in other countries of Europe (−11.0%) and in the rest of the world (−14.3%) also stand out.

By economic destination, imports of intermediate goods dropped by 8.4% and consumer goods by 8.0%; however, those of capital goods grew by 0.4%. By geographical areas, the decreases in purchases from Central and South America (−35.2%), other countries of Europe (−31.9%), the European Union (−2.0%) and the rest of the world (−10.1%) stand out; on the other hand, the increase in purchases in North America (16.5%) also stand out.
