Consumer Price Index. 08/2023

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.5% on a year-over-year basis in Catalonia in August 2023. The groups with the highest inflation were Food and non-alcoholic beverages (9.5%), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (8.2%) and Leisure and culture (7.9%). The only group with a negative variation rate was Housing (−15.9%).

In this period, the core inflation (general index without unprocessed food and energy products) is 6.0% in Catalonia.
