Indicators of Service Sector Activity. Turnover Index. 01/2024

The Turnover Index in Service Sector (IASSVN) (base 2021=100) increased by 3.1% on a year-over-year basis in Catalonia in January 2024. By activity sectors, trade increased (1.5%) and so did the other services, this is to say, non-commercial sectors (5.8%). Within these other services, the increases of administrative and support service activities with 17.9%, professional, scientific and technical activities with 13.7% and accommodation and food service activities with 6.4%, stood out.

By publishing the data for January 2024 on base year 2021, Idescat is complying with European Commission Implementing Regulation 2020/1197 on short-term business statistics, which establishes a change of basis in 2021. The linked sets of the indexes in base year 2021 have been published as of January 2005.
