Exports rose by 6.5% on a year-over-year basis in Catalonia in December 2017. By economic destination, intermediate goods and consumer goods increased by 11.7% and 3.7% respectively while capital goods registered decreases: 11.2%. On the other hand, imports increased by 5.2% year-over-year, as a result of the increase in imports of all types of goods, mainly consumer goods and intermediate goods with 6.5% and 5.0% respectively.
In 2017, exports increased by 8.7%, according to provisional data from the Customs and Special Taxes Department of the State Tax Administration Agency. By economic destination, exports of intermediate goods and consumer goods increased by 9.7% and 9.1%, respectively; On the other hand, capital goods decreased by 0.5%. With regard toimports, they grew by 8.3% with increases in all goods: intermediate goods by 9.2%, consumer goods by 7.2% and capital goods by 6.7%.
