EF Fertility Survey

The Fertility survey provides information on the determining factors of current and expected future fertility.

The aims of the survey are to identify the determining factors of fertility and provide information on changes in family structures, couple relationships, the factors that influence the decision to have children and the reasons for not having them.

This survey takes into account biological and adopted children of the woman surveyed, and any of the partner's previous children (both whether they co-habit with her or not).

The Fertility survey is a two-stage stratified sampling operation carried out by the INE in 2018 and targeted at the population aged between 18 and 55 years. Idescat disseminates the results of the female population sample for Catalonia.
