MTPD Labour Market Statistics on People with Disabilities

The main objective of the Labour market statistics on people with disabilities is to ascertain the situation of disabled people and their integration in the labour market. The following are the main aspects researched:

  • The characteristics of disabled people's labour and educational environment.
  • The equality of opportunities or possible discrimination against people with disabilities in terms of labour and education.
  • The prevalence, type and degree of disability.

Disabled people are defined as the group of people in the 16–64 age range, with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%, who reside in main family dwellings. From 2014, they also include: (i) pensioners from the Social Security agency who have a recognised permanent 100%, absolute or major disability pension and (ii) pensioners of the beneficiary categories that have a retirement pension on the basis of permanent disability or unfitness (in accordance with Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013, of 29 November).

Labour market statistics on people with disabilities are a detailed exploitation for the scope of Catalonia and with annual periodicity of the statistics Employment of persons with disabilities of the INE, which combines information from the Active Population Survey with the national database of people with disabilities and with other records.
