Methodological note
The net schooling rate by age is the ratio of the population of official school age in authorised centres of a given age and the estimated population of that same age. The age of the students refers to their age on 31 December when the school year begins. The population by age is obtained from the intercensal population estimates as of January 1 of the year following the start of the academic year.
The use of two different sources in the calculation algorithm may result in schooling rates that are higher than 100%.
