Methodological note

The main objective of the Statistics on the Employability of University Graduates is to provide data on the employability in Catalonia of graduates from Catalan universities. Employability is analysed on the basis of affiliation to the Social Security system and its characteristics in the graduation year and in the following five years. Data are available from the cohort regarding the school year 2012/2013 onwards.

Employability rate

Proportion of graduates in each cohort who are contributing to the Social Security in Catalonia at each time of analysis.

Cumulative employability rate

Proportion of graduates in each cohort who have been contributing to the Social Security in Catalonia at any time between the last working day of September of the graduation year and the time of analysis.

The data are provided for all graduates, and also for those graduates who reside in Catalonia at each time of analysis, as place of residence has a major impact on employability rates.

The difference between the cumulative employability rate and the employability rate provides data on the proportion of graduates who have been contributing to the Social Security at any time since the graduation but are no longer contributing to the Social Security at the reference date of the analysis.
