Methodological note
The gender employment gap is measured as the difference between the employment rates of men and women aged 20-64. The employment rate is calculated by dividing the number of persons aged 20-64 in employment by the total population of the same age group.
In addition, it also provides the gender occupational gap of employed persons working part-time, calculated as the difference between the share of part-time employed among men and women aged 20-64; and the gender occupational gap of employed persons with a temporary contract calculated as the difference between the share of employed persons aged 20-64 with a temporary contract out of the total employment of the same age group.
The indicator is based on the EPA (Spanish acronym for Labour Force Survey).
