Consumer Price Index. 05/2023

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.2% on a year-over-year basis in Catalonia in May 2023. The groups with the highest inflation were Food and non-alcoholic beverages (11.5%), Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (8.5%), Hotels, cafés and restaurants (7.1%) and Household goods (6.1%) . The only groups with a negative variation rate were Housing (−8.7%) and Transport (−3.5%).

In this period, the core inflation (general index without unprocessed food and energy products) is 6.1% in Catalonia.
