Tourism of Residents in Catalonia. Q1/2023

The number of trips made by Catalans increased 1.6% year–over–year in the first quarter 2023. People residing in Catalonia made 5.7 million trips, involving 17.7 million overnight stays, an average stay of 3.1 nights, and an expenditure of 1,561 million euros.

The expenditure of Catalans on trips in the first quarter came to 273 euros per person, which represents an increase of 13.4% in comparison with the first quarter of 2022, and an expenditure of 88 euros per day, with represents an increase of 14.0%.

The number of day trips made by people residing in Catalonia stood at 10.0 million in the first quarter of 2023, 11.7% more than in the same quarter of the previous year.
