Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 07/2023

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose principal destination was Catalonia stood at 2,925 million euro in July 2023, compared to 2,596 million in July 2022. This figure represents an increase of 12.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, France and the United States stood out with a total expenditure of 435 and 401 million euros, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 213 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 5.6%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport not included in the tour package, with an amount of 742 million euros, and the expenditure on activities, with an amount of 537 million euros.
