Statistics on Rural Tourism Accommodation Activity. 2022. Definitive data

The number of overnight stays in rural tourism establishments increased by 17.1% in Catalonia in 2022, according to the definitive data from the Rural Tourism Accommodation Occupancy Survey, that update the provisional data. By origin of travellers, domestic tourism overnight stays increased by 4.3%: the overnight stays from Catalan tourists increased by 2.7% and those from tourists of the rest of Spain by 37.7%. Overnight stays of foreign tourists also increased by 150.4% year-over-year. By tourism brands, Pirineus and Costa Brava registered the largest number of overnight stays (485.5 and 320.9 thousand, respectively), with a yearly increase of 11.9% and 15.9%, respectively. On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in rural tourism establishments increased by 23.6% on a yearly basis.
