European Statistics Day 2023

Idescat is joining the celebration of the European Statistics Day, an initiative led by the European Statistical Advisory Committee and supported by the European Statistics System and the European System of Central Banks.

The aim of the celebration is to raise awareness among European citizens about the importance of official statistics. It provides an opportunity for all official statistics users (political leaders, companies, research community, media and citizens) to interact with European statistics.

The European Statistics Day is held annually on 20 October, except for the years when the World Statistics Day (promoted by the United Nations) is celebrated, which takes place every five years. This year the celebration happens to be on the same day as Catalan Statistics Day.

On the 8th edition of the initiative, the European statistical community is organising various activities and events under the motto "Statistics for better development in a fast-changing world".
