Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 01/2024

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 1,050 million euros in January 2024, this figure represents an increase of 30.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, Italy and France stood out with a total expenditure of 100 and 96 million euros, a figure that represented an increase of 109.5% and of 22.5%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 159 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 1.1%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport, with an amount of 353 million euros, and activities, with an amount of 240 million euros.
