Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 2023. Definitive data

The total expenditure made in 2023 by tourists residing abroad whose principal destination was Catalonia increased by 28,9% compared to 2022, and stood at 21,248 million euros, according to definite data that update the provisional data. The main expenditure items corresponded to international transport (5,675 million euros) and accommodation (4,380 million euros).

By country of residence, the United States and France stood out, with a total expenditure of 2,923 and 2,754 million euros and a year-over-year increase of 51.5% and 14.6%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 209 euros, which represented a year-over-year decrease of 11.4%.
