Business Confidence Indicators. Q2/2024

The Harmonized Business Confidence Index (HBCI) of Catalonia increased by 2.3% in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the previous quarter.

All sectors of activity improved business confidence except construction (-0.5%). Accommodation and food service activities and transport held the highest increase (5.0%), followed by industry (3.8%), trade (1.7%) and other services (1.6%).

In relation to the same quarter of the previous year the index increased by 1.6%. The increase in accommodation and food service activities and transport (6.0%) stood out, followed by industry (2.5%) and other services (1.5%). On the other hand, construction (-1.4%) and trade (-0.6%) showed a loss of confidence compared to the second quarter of 2023.
