Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 03/2024

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 1,494 million euros in March 2024, which represents an increase of 38.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, the United States, France and Germany stood out with a total expenditure of 305, 129 and 110 million euros, a figure that represented an year-over-year variation of 69.4%, −1.3% and of 61.8%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 206 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 6.0%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package, with an amount of 438 million euros, and expenditure on activities, with an amount of 295 million euros.
