Industrial Production Index. 11/2024

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days increased by 0.6% year-over-year in Catalonia in November 2024. By large industrial sectors, there was an increase in intermediate goods (2.6%), capital goods (2.5%) and consumer goods (0.6%); while energy decreased (−11.0%).

In the same period, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 1.3% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) did so by 2.4%. By large industrial sectors, all of them decreased: energy (−12.1%), consumer goods (−2.5%), capital goods (−0.9%) and intermediate goods (−0.3%).

Finally, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases were registered in paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (−15.7%) and in manufacture of basic metals and metal products (−5.9%); on the other hand, the highest increases were registered in manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (16.8%) and manufacture of pharmaceutical products (7.6%).
