Statistics on Rural Tourism Accommodation Activity. Q4/2024 and 2024. Provisional data

The number of overnight stays in rural tourism establishments in Catalonia increased by a year-over-year 4.0% in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to provisional data from the Rural Tourist Accommodation Occupancy Survey.

By country of origin, the number of overnight stays of domestic tourists rose by 1.6% (Catalan tourism increased by 4.8% and that proceeding from the rest of Spain decreased by 40.4%) and foreign tourism rose by 22.6%.

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in rural tourism establishments rose by a year-over-year 9.3%.

In the year 2024, the overnight stays in rural tourism establishments decreased by 2.8% in Catalonia, according to provisional data from the Rural Tourism Accommodation Occupancy Survey.

By origin of travellers, overnight stays of domestic tourism grew by 4.4%: those of Catalan travelers decreased by 1.7% and those of travelers from the rest of Spain decreased by 31.1%. Overnight stays of foreign tourism increased by 2.7% compared to a year ago.

On the other hand, there was an decrease of 0.8% in the number of travellers in comparison to 2023.
