In terms of women, a significantly higher SDR was recorded in El Penedès, the Central Counties and Les Terres de l’Ebre. By contrast, the Metropolitan Area had a significantly lower female death rate.

By age, an SDR of 141 per 100,000 inhabitants aged 0 to 64 years and an SDR of 3,602 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants aged 65 years and over were recorded. By areas, the Metropolitan Area had a lower death rate for both age groups, in contrast to El Camp de Tarragona and El Penedès, which recorded a significantly higher death rate in both age groups. Les Terres de l’Ebre and Ponent areas had a higher SDR only for the under 65 age group, whereas the Central Counties recorded a significantly higher SDR only in the over 65 age group.

By counties, the significantly lower SDRs were in Aran (727) and El Barcelonès (776), while El Moianès (977), Priorat (923) and Solsonès (915) top the list of the 20 counties to record an SDR significantly higher than the average.
