Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 01/2025

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 1,098 million euros in January 2025, which represents an increase of 4.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, France, the United States and Italy and stood out with a total expenditure of 171, 87 and 62 million euros, a figure that represented a year-over-year variation of 78.8%, −37.8% and −37.7%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 163 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 2.6%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package (373 million euros) and to expenditure on activities (233 million euros).
