Industrial Production Index. 01/2025

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days increased by 1.7% year-over-year in Catalonia in January 2025. By large industrial sectors, all of them increased: capital goods by 2.5%, intermediate goods by 1.7%, energy by 1.3% and consumer goods by 1.0%

In January 2025, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 1.6% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) did so by 1.3%. By large industrial sectors, decreased consumer goods (−2.3%), capital goods (−1.4%) and intermediate goods (−0.1%), while energy increased by 0.6%.

Finally, by industrial divisions, the most significant decreases were registered in manufacture of rubber products and plastic materials (−7.5%) and in manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (−6.2%); on the other hand, the highest increases were registered in manufacture of pharmaceutical products (4.0%) and in textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (2.5%).
