A total of 23.5% of the employed population in Catalonia stated that they had worked at least one Saturday each month in 2024 (0.8 points less than the year before), according to the Economically Active Population Survey. The employed population who worked at least one Sunday each month was 16.1% (0.1 points less than in 2023).
Regarding shift work, the percentage of male employees who worked in shifts decreased by 4.2 points compared to 2023 (17.3%). In the case of women, the proportion decreased by 0.6 points (14.5%).
13.1% of the employed population worked more than half of days until late in the afternoon (3.4 point less than in 2023). By sex, 13.7% of men and 12.5% of women did so.
In 2024, 7.3% of employed men were executives of small, medium-sized or large enterprises, compared with 4.9% of employed women. Furthermore, 74.7% of employed women had bosses and no subordinates, while this is the case for 66.1% of men.
