Industrial Production Index. 02/2025

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) decreased by 0.3% year-over-year in Catalonia in February 2025. By large industrial sectors, there was a decrease in consumer goods by 1.8% and intermediate goods by 0.6%, while energy increased by 2.2% and capital goods by 0.9%.

In February 2025, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 4.9% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) by 4.1% year-over-year. By large industrial sectors, there was a decrease in intermediate goods (−5.4%), consumer goods (−5.2%) and capital goods (−3.8%) while energy (2.0%) increased.

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest decreases where recorded by the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−13.6%) and by the manufacture of rubber products and plastic materials and the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (−9.8% both), while the only increase was found in the manufacture of machinery and mechanical equipment (0.2%).
