Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 03/2025

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 1,441 million euros in March 2025, which represents a decrease of 3.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, the United States, France and Italy and stood out with a total expenditure of 205, 185 and 84 million euros, a figure that represented a year-over-year variation of −32.9%, 43.6% and 29.3%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 220 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 6.9%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package (483 million euros) and to expenditure on activities (272 million euros).

It should be noted that in 2025 Easter was celebrated in April while in 2024 it took place in March.
