Industrial Production Index. 03/2025

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) decreased by 0.4% year-over-year in Catalonia in March 2025. By large industrial sectors, there was a decrease in consumer goods by 3.0% and intermediate goods by 1.9%, while energy increased by 6.3% and capital goods by 3.4%.

In March 2025, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increased by 6.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) by 6.6% year-over-year. By large industrial sectors, all grow: capital goods (11.4%), energy (6.9%), intermediate goods (5.5%) and consumer goods (4.1%).

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest increases where recorded in the electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (16.7%) and the paper, graphic arts and recorded media industries (13.6%); on the other hand, decreases where found in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−6.4%) and the food and beverage industries (−1.6%).
