Statistics on Hotel Activity. 04/2025

The number of overnight stays in hotel establishments in Catalonia increased by 12.3% year-over-year in April 2025, according to the Hotel Occupancy Survey. Domestic tourism overnight stays increased by 24.4%: of these, those of Catalan travellers increased by 28.2% and travellers from the rest of Spain increased by 21.1% year-over-year. Foreign tourism overnight stays increased by 7.9% year-over-year.

By country of origin, tourists from France, the United Kingdom and United States show the highest figure in overnight stays in absolute terms (598.7, 375.2 and 369.3 thousand, respectively), with a negative year-over-year variation in France (−6.5%) and positive in the United Kingdom (13.0%) and United States (7.4%).

By tourism brands, Barcelona, Costa Brava and Costa Daurada were the locations that registered the highest number of overnight stays in absolute terms (2.1, 1.0 million and 807.1 thousand, respectively) with positive year-over-year variations 2.7%, 20.7% and 31.4%, respectively.

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in hotel establishments increased by 15.2% year-over-year, with an increase in domestic tourism by 24.8% and in foreign tourism by 10.6%.
