Industrial Production Index. 04/2025

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) decreased by 1.4% year-over-year in Catalonia in April 2025. By large industrial sectors, there was a decrease in capital goods by 5.4%, intermediate goods by 1.9% and energy by 0.6%, while consumer goods increased by 1.3%.

In April 2025, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) decreased by 8.8% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) by 8.0% year-over-year. By large industrial sectors, all fall: capital goods (−12.6%), intermediate goods (−8.9%), consumer goods (−5.7%) and energy (−1.4%).

Finally, all the industrial divisions decreases and those that register higher rates are the manufacture of transport material (−18.4%), the manufacture of basic metals and metal products (−14.2%) and the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (−13.5%).
