Labour Cost Statistics. Q1/2025

The labour cost per worker and month stood at 3,389.56 euros in Catalonia as of the first quarter of 2025, 4.2% more than the same quarter in 2024. For specific sectors, the labour cost per worker and month in the ICT sector was 5,460.87 euros, 1.1% more than a year ago, while the culture sector remained stable and stood at 3,721.92 euros. The tourism sector increased by 6.7% compared to the same quarter of 2024, with a labour cost of 2,595.50 euros per worker and month. Within the tourism sector, the highest labour cost was recorded by the tourism transport subsector (4,198.34 euros). In the culture sector, the books and press subsector is the one with the highest labor cost (4,314.46 euros).

The wage cost per worker and month increased by 4.2% in Catalonia and reached 2,499.96 euros. The wage cost in the ICT sector was 4,248.61 euros (year-on-year variation of 0.3%), in the culture sector was 2,815.44 (2.2%) and in tourism sector was 1,909.57 (7.2%).

By effective hour, the labour cost was 25.52 euros, and the wage cost 18.82 euros. In the analysed specific sectors, ICT sector had the highest effective wage cost per hour (27.82 euros), followed by the cultural (20.15 euros) and tourism (15.77 euros) sectors.

Finally, the number of job vacancies was 31,905, 13.7% more than a year ago, and the service sector accounts for 84.6% of these job vacancies.
