Foreign Trade according to Technological Content. Q1/2025

Catalonia exported industrial products worth 23,834.8 million euros in the first quarter of 2025. All groups of industrial products according to effort in research and development (R&D) increased sales abroad except those with a medium-low technology level. Sales with high technology content (which amounted to 2,946.3 million euros) rose by 3.7%, as did those with medium-high and low technology content (2.5% and 6.1%, respectively); in contrast, medium-low level sales fell (−2.2%).

Catalonia imported industrial products worth 26,164.4 million euros in the first quarter of 2025. Purchases abroad show increases at all technology levels: high level imports (3,468.6 million euros) increased by 7.2%, medium-high level imports by 8.8%, medium-low level imports by 13.9% and low level imports by 15.6%.
