Annual Wage Structure Statistics. 2023

The gross annual wage per employee in Catalonia was 29,978.69 euros in 2023, 4.2% higher than the previous year, according to the Annual Wage Structure Statistics. The gross annual wage of women grew by 6.2% and reached 27,240.93 euros, while that of men grew by 2.6% and reached 32,721.58 euros. Earnings per hour stood at 19.01 euros, 3.2% higher than in 2022. By sex, the earnings per hour of men stood at 19.89 euros, while those of women stood at 18.05 euros.

By broad sector, industry had the highest gross annual wage (34,122.92 euros), followed by services (29,293.14 euros) and construction (27,733.41 euros).

By type of contract, the gross annual wage of employees with permanent contracts increased by 4.3% compared to 2022 and stood at 30,419.11 euros. The gross annual wage of those with temporary contracts registered a year-over-year decrease of 1.1%, at 25,343.74 euros. The earnings per hour stood at 19.13 euros in the case of employees with permanent contracts and at 17.56 euros in the case of those with temporary contracts.
