Statistics on Salaried Employment and Self-Employment according to Social Security Affiliations. 06/2025. Provisional data

The number of affiliations to the Social Security General Regime with location of the contribution account in Catalonia increased by 1.3% year-over-year in June 2025 and stood at 3,193,615 affiliations, according to provisional data. By counties, those with the highest relative increases were L'Alta Ribagorça (6.4%), Aran (5.9%) and El Lluçanès (4.5%). On the other hand, El Maresme (−2.7%) and L'Alt Urgell (−2.0%) are the counties that recorded the largest decreases. The highest increases in absolute terms were recorded in El Barcelonès (20,360 affiliations), El Gironès (3,355 affiliations) and El Baix Llobregat (3,185 affiliations). On the contrary, El Maresme (−3,090 affiliations) and Osona (−515 affiliations) showed the largest decreases in absolute terms.

The number of self-employed workers carrying out economic activities in Catalonia rose by 0.6% year-over-year to 571,310 affiliations. The counties that have recorded the greatest increase in relative terms are El Baix Penedès (3.9%), El Lluçanès (2.4%) and La Selva (2.2%). In absolute numbers, the growth was led by El Barcelonès (1,545 affiliations), El Maresme (280 affiliations), La Selva (275 affiliations) and El Baix Penedès (270 affiliations). On the other hand, El Pallars Sobirà (−4.0%), La Ribera d'Ebre (−3.6%) and El Priorat (−2.4%) are the counties with the largest relative decreases, and El Segrià (−230 affiliations), La Ribera d'Ebre and El Pla d'Urgell (−60 affiliations each) did so in absolute terms.

The number of contribution accounts to the Social Security General Regime in Catalonia decreased by 0.2% year-over-year (−449 contribution accounts) to 249,558 accounts. The counties that have led the growth in relative numbers are La Segarra and Aran (both with 2.8%) and L'Alta Ribagorça (2.7%). In absolute numbers, El Barcelonès (142 accounts), Osona (24 accounts) and La Noguera (20 accounts) are the counties that recorded the highest growths in absolute terms. On the other hand, El Baix Llobregat (−114 accounts), El Vallès Oriental (−103 accounts) and El Maresme (−85 accounts) are the counties that recorded the largest drops in absolute terms.
