Statistics on Hotel Activity. 07/2025

The number of overnight stays in hotel establishments in Catalonia remained stable in July 2025 compared to a year ago, according to the Hotel Occupancy Survey. Domestic tourism overnight stays increased by 2.2%: of these, those of Catalan travellers decreased by 11.2% and travellers from the rest of Spain increased by 17.9% year-over-year. Foreign tourism overnight stays decreased by 0.5% year-over-year.

By country of origin, tourists from the United Kingdom, France and United States show the highest figure in overnight stays in absolute terms (861.4, 809.6 and 418.9 thousand, respectively), with negative year-over-year variations of 2,1%, 4,8% i 7,3%, respectively.

By tourism brands, Barcelona, Costa Brava and Costa Daurada were the locations that registered the highest number of overnight stays in absolute terms (2.2, 2.1 and 1.8 million, respectively) with negative year-over-year variations in Barcelona (−1.3%) and in Costa Brava (−1.7%) and positive in Costa Daurada (1.8%).

On the other hand, the number of travellers registered in hotel establishments increased by 3.3% year-over-year, with an increase in domestic tourism by 2.7% and in foreign tourism by 3.6%.
