The value of exports to Catalonia was 9,210.5 M€ in July 2025, a figure that represents a year-over-year decrease of 0.6%. Imports, with a value of 10,439.0 M€, increased by 7.7%.
As for exports by economic destination, those of intermediate goods decreased by 9.0%; however, capital goods increased by 12.4% and consumer goods by 9.8%. By geographical area, sales in America dropped by 22.1% and in the European Union by 0.7%. On the other hand, sales in the rest of the world grew by 20.1%, in Asia by 13.0%, and in other countries and territories of Europe (not belonging to the EU) by 9.8%.
By branches of economic activity, the most notable decreases in sales were in mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−34.9%; −112.5 M€) and chemical industries (-15.9%; -457.4 M euros). On the other hand, the branches with the most significant increases were in electrical and electronic equipment (26.8%; 135.6 M€), and in crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (18.6%; 45.7 M€).
As for imports by economic destination, all goods grew: capital goods by 18.8%, consumer goods by 9.8% and intermediate goods by 5.1%. By geographical area, purchases in the rest of the world increased by 63.3%, in Asia by 9.5%, in the European Union by 9.3%, and in other countries and territories in Europe (not belonging to the EU) by 9.2%. On the other hand, purchases from America decreased by 20.9%.
By branches of economic activity, there was notable growth in purchases of office, precise and optical equipment (41.2%; 91.5 M€) and in purchases of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (26.8%; 171.9 M€). On the other hand, the only decrease was in crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (−2.5%; −13.3 M€).
