Statistics on Foreign Tourism Expenditure. 08/2025

The total expenditure made by foreign tourists whose main destination was Catalonia stood at 3,112 million euros in August 2025, which represents a increase of 1.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

By country of habitual residence, France, United Kingdom and the United States and stood out with a total expenditure of 567, 386 and 260 million euros, a figure that represented a year-over-year variation of −4.0%, 4.0% and −18.1%, respectively.

The average daily expenditure per person was 229 euros, which represented a year-over-year increase of 7.5%. The main expenditure items correspond to expenditure on accommodation (796 million euros) and expenditure on international transport that is not included in the tourist package (669 million euros).
