Industrial Production Index. 08/2025

The Industrial Production Index adjusted by working days (base=100) increased by 6.4% year-over-year in Catalonia in August 2025. By large industrial sectors, capital goods increase by 21.0%, consumer goods by 8.5% and energy by 2.4%, and on the other hand, intermediate goods decrease by 2.4%.

In August 2025, the Industrial Products Index (which does not include energy and is not adjusted by working days) increases by 2.5% compared to the same month of the previous year and the Industrial Production Index (which includes energy) by 2.3% year-over-year. By large industrial sectors, capital goods increases (15.2%), consumer goods (4.3%) and energy (1.4%), while intermediate goods (−5.0%) decrease.

Finally, by industrial divisions the highest increases where recorded in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (49.9%) and in the manufacture of transport equipment (37.4%); on the other hand, the most notable decreases were recorded in the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industries (−18.4%) and in the manufacture of electrical, electronic and optical materials and equipment (−11.2%).
