Presentation of the 23th Student Contest on Applied Statistics (UAB-Idescat)

The ceremony for presenting the awards of the 23th Student Contest on Applied Statistics, was held on the 20 October, framed within the 25th Statistics Day of Catalonia. This competition that is organised annually by the Applied Statistics Service at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the collaboration of the Statistical Institute of Catalonia and which is designed to foster interest and research spirit in the field of statistics at universities in the state of Spain.
Idescat prize for the best master work was for the work titled Extension and implementation of bootstrap-based approaches for inference on the total deviation index; the SEA - Anna Espinal prize for the best degree work was for the work titled Arquitectures socials del temps. Anàlisi de l'associació entre factors socioeconòmics i l'ús del temps, and the Almirall prize at the best work in biostatistics was for the work titled Optimizing dynamic predictions from joint models for multivariate longitudinal and time-to-event data via super learning approach.
