Statistics and Accounts of the Cultural Companies. 2023

The turnover of the cultural sector in Catalonia was 14,270 million euros in 2023, a figure that shows a 5.1% increase compared to the year before. The sector generated a gross added value of 5,699 million euros (9.9% more than in 2022) and employed 112,987 people, meaning an increase of 1.2%.

By cultural domains, Advertising is the one that generated the highest turnover, with 3,084 million euros (21.6% of the total), followed by the domain Other services related to culture, with a turnover of 2,274 million euros (15.9%). On the contrary, the domain of Heritage, archives and libraries created the lowest turnover, with 215 million euros (1.5% of the total).
