The value of exports to Catalonia was 6,456.6 M€ in August 2025, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 0.3%. Imports, with a value of 7,997,1 M€, decreased by 0.1%.

As for exports by economic destination, those of capital goods increased by 25.5% and consumer goods by 3.6%; however, intermediate goods decreased by 4.6%. By geographical area, sales grew in America by 12.2% and in the rest of the world by 11.4%. On the other hand, sales dropped in other countries and territories of Europe (not belonging to the EU) by 6.5%, in Asia by 2.3%, and in the European Union by 1.7%.

By branches of economic activity, the most notable growth in sales were in electrical and electronic equipment (15.5%; 66.5 M€) and motor vehicles and other transport equipment (19.1%; 103.2 M€). On the other hand, the branch with the most significant decrease was mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−45.7%; −124.8 M€).

As for imports by economic destination, those of intermediate goods decreased by 3.1%; however, capital goods increased by 4.7% and consumer goods by 3.6%. By geographical area, purchases in America decreased by 19.2% and in Asia by 5.2%. On the other hand, purchases in other European countries and territories (not belonging to the EU) increased by 6.6%, in the European Union by 3.5%, and in the rest of the world by 29.4%.

By branches of economic activity, there was notable decrease in purchases of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−29.9%; −237.3M€) and the chemical industries (−12.8%; −209.9M€). On the other hand, the branches with the most significant increases in purchases were crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (34.6%; 141.6M€), food and beverages (16.9%; 121.3M€), and motor vehicles and other transport equipment (16.1%; 176.3M€).
