The value of exports of Catalonia was 8,577.5 M€ in September 2025, a figure that represents a year-over-year increase of 5.9%. Imports, with a value of 10,100.8 M€, increased by 9.9%.

As for exports by economic destination, those of capital goods increased by 14.2% and consumer goods by 13.5%; however, intermediate goods decreased by 0.5%. By geographical area, sales to Asia grew by 14.7%, to the European Union by 8.3%, to the rest of the world by 3.2% and to America by 1.0%. On the other hand, sales dropped to other European countries and territories (non-EU) by 5.6%.

By branches of economic activity, the most notable growth in sales were in motor vehicles and other transport equipment (14.1%; 161.3 M€), in office, precision and optical equipment (12.9%; 14.9 M€) and crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (11.3%; 24.5 M€). On the other hand, the branch with the most significant decrease was mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−25.6%; −90.3 M€).

As for imports by economic destination, exports of all goods grew: capital goods by 15.0%, consumer goods by 14.5% and intermediate goods by 6.7%. By geographical area, purchases from America increased by 17.3%, from Asia by 11.9%, from the European Union by 10.3% and from the rest of the world by 18.8%.On the other hand, purchases from other European countries and territories (non-EU) decreased by 16.0%.

By branches of economic activity, there was notable increase in purchases in motor vehicles and other transport equipment (32.3%; 405.6 M€) and in crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (19.5%; 91.7 M€). On the other hand, the branch with the most significant decrease was chemical industries (−1.7%; −32.5M€).
