Statistics on Labour Cost and Vacancies. Q3/2025

The labour cost per worker and month stood at 3,295.59 euros in Catalonia as of the third quarter of 2025, 2.9% more than the same quarter in 2024. The number of job vacancies stood at 28,079, 0,4% more than a year earlier.

Labour Cost

The labour cost per worker and month stood at 3,295.59 euros in Catalonia as of the third quarter of 2025, 2.9% more than the same quarter in 2024. For specific sectors, the labour cost per worker and month in the ICT sector was 5,717.96 euros, 8.9% more than a year ago, while the culture sector rose a 1.3% and stood at 3,590.32 euros, and the tourism sector increased by 0.3% compared to the same quarter of 2024, with a labour cost of 2,498.64 euros per worker and month. Within the tourism sector, the highest labour cost was recorded by the tourism transport subsector (3,727.92 euros). In the culture sector, the audiovisual and advertising subsector is the one with the highest labor cost (3,982.00 euros).

The wage cost per worker and month increased by 2.7% in Catalonia and reached 2,394.76 euros. The wage cost in the ICT sector was 4,464.79 euros (9.1% year-over-year), in the culture sector 2,650.96 euros (0.1%) and in tourism sector 1,815.11euros (0.7%).

By effective hour, the labour cost was 27.93 euros, and the wage cost 20.29 euros. In the analysed specific sectors, ICT sector had the highest effective wage cost per hour (33.81euros), followed by the cultural (22.92 euros) and tourism (15.25 euros) sectors.

Job vacancies

In the third quarter of 2025, the number of job vacancies stood at 28,079, 0,4% more than a year earlier.

As for industry, compared with the same quarter of the previous year, the number of vacancies increased across all activity groups, in relative terms, ecept chemical and rubber, was it decreased by 15.2% (from 661 to 561 vacancies). As for services, the number of vacancies decreased in all activity groups, except in Public administration (from 5,510 to 8,513 vacancies; 54.5%) and information and communication (from 2,062 to 2,307 vacancies; 11.9%). The service activity group with the largest decrease in the number of job vacancies was administrative and Transport, storage and hospitality (from 3,315 to 2,387 vacancies; −58.2%).
