The value of exports of Catalonia was 9,444.5 M€ in October 2025, a figure that represents a year-over-year decrease of 2.3%. Imports, with a value of 10,010.0 M€, decreased by 4.9%.
As for exports by economic destination, intermediate goods decreased by 5.2% and consumer goods by 0.6%; on the other hand, capital goods increased by 13.8%. By geographical area, they decreased in America by 17.0%, in other countries and territories of Europe (non-EU) by 2.5% and in the European Union by 1.3%; on the other hand, sales increased in Asia by 9.1% and in the rest of the world by 2.3%.
By branches of economic activity, chemical industries (−13.0%; −359.7 M€), textiles, manufacture of wearing apparel, leather and footwear (−7.6%; −53.6 M€) and motor vehicles and other transport equipment (−5.6%; −88.4 M€) decreased. On the other hand, the growth of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (10.1%; 25.0 M€), crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (9.4%; 18.0 M€) and basic metals and metals products (9.1%; 43.4 M€) is noteworthy.
As for imports by economic destination, intermediate goods decreased by 10.5%; on the other hand, capital goods increased by 7.2% and consumer goods by 2.6%. By geographical area, purchases decreased by 27.7% in America, 10.4% in Asia, 0.5% in other European countries and territories (non-EU) and 10.9% in the rest of the world; on the other hand, they grew by 2.1% in the European Union.
By branches of economic activity, the decrease in purchases of mining, extraction and refined petroleum products (−38.0%; −310.5 M€) and crop and animal production, hunting, fishing and aquaculture (−14.0%; −76.3 M€) stands out. On the other hand, the growth in purchases of office, precise and optical equipment (10.1%; 24.0 M€) and food products and beverages (4.4%; 37.1 M€) stands out.
