Idescat improves website navigation

Idescat has introduced fresh improvements to its website navigation to make it easier for users to access statistical information while also enhancing their browsing experience.

Firstly, the layout and structure of the page providing access to each set of statistics has been updated. The content has been reorganised into three new tabs, enabling users to go directly to the information they are looking for without leaving the main page: Highlights, which includes the dissemination of the latest published results; Results, which contains all the available data for the statistics; and Methodology, where users can view related technical information, including any relevant regulations and questionnaires.

Access to the results of each set of statistics has also been improved. The first level of the navigation trees features Basic results (including improved access to series and comparisons with data from Spain) followed by Detailed results, which provide the complete results for each set of statistics. This new arrangement means that users never have to leave the entry point or switch products to access data from the same statistics. The most significant data are now displayed at the first level of query, avoiding unnecessary navigation through more complex tables.

Furthermore, coinciding with the start of the production and dissemination of experimental statistics, a first video generated with artificial intelligence has been published. Despite the surprising potential of this tool, Idescat is aware of the limitations and shortcomings of its results to date. However, it has been deemed appropriate to publish it, with the aim of eventually applying this innovative format to the official statistics produced and disseminated by Idescat in the future.

These actions, which are intended to be ongoing, reflect the objective of placing the user at the heart of Idescat's communication efforts and ensuring that the website becomes a tool that facilitates access to official statistical data and data downloads.
