Statistics on Salaried Employment and Self-Employment according to Social Security Affiliations. 12/2025. Provisional data

The number of affiliations to the Social Security General Regime with location of the contribution account in Catalonia increased by 2.3% year-over-year in December 2025 and stood at 3,179,620 affiliations, according to provisional data. By counties, those with the highest relative increases were El Lluçanès (5.7%), La Cerdanya (4.4%) and El Pla d'Urgell (4.3%). On the other hand, El Priorat (−1.6%), L'Alt Camp and La Ribera d'Ebre (−0.6%, both) are the counties that recorded the largest decreases. The highest increases in absolute terms were recorded in El Barcelonès (33,085 affiliations), El Baix Llobregat (8,100 affiliations) and El Vallès Occidental (5,765 affiliations), while El Maresme (−370 affiliations) and El Bages (−230 affiliations) showed the largest decreases in absolute terms.

The number of self-employed workers carrying out economic activities in Catalonia rose by 1.1% year-over-year to 573,585 affiliations. The counties that recorded the greatest increase in relative terms were Aran (4.2%), El Baix Penedès (3.2%) and El Garraf (2.6%). In absolute numbers, the growth was led by El Barcelonès (2,500 affiliations), El Vallès Occidental (690 affiliations) and El Maresme (420 affiliations). On the other hand, El Priorat (−3.0%), El Pla d'Urgell (−2.8%) and El Pallars Sobirà (−2.1%) were the counties with the largest relative decreases, while El Segrià (−145 affiliations), El Pla d'Urgell (−90 affiliations) and L'Alt Penedès (−35 affiliations) registered the largest absolute decreases.

The number of contribution accounts to the Social Security General Regime in Catalonia increased by 0.2% year-over-year (519 contribution accounts) to 246,129 accounts. The counties that led the rise in relative numbers were El Lluçanès (4.7%), La Segarra (2.9%), y El Baix Penedès (2.3%). In absolute numbers, El Barcelonès (199 accounts), El Vallès Occidental (195 accounts) and El Baix Llobregat (137 accounts) were the counties that recorded the largest growths. On the other hand, El Vallès Oriental (−46 accounts), El Baix Camp (−41 accounts) and L'Alt Empordà (−39 accounts) were the counties that recorded the highest drops in absolute terms.
