Business Confidence Indicators. Q1/2026

The Harmonised Business Confidence Index (HBCI) of Catalonia increased by 0.8% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.

By activity sector, all sectors improved in business confidence except for accommodation and food service activities (−1.1%). Trade is the sector where it increased the most (1.9%), followed by construction (1.4%), other services (1.1%) and industry (0.1%).

In relation to the same quarter of the previous year, the Business Confidence Index increased by 0.2%. There was a different behaviour by sector, with increases in confidence in trade (2.3%), in construction (1.8%) and in other services (0.5%), and decreases of business confidence in accommodation and food service activities and transport (−3.2%) and in industry (−0.8%).
