Consumer Confidence Index. 11/2025
The Consumer Confidence Index for Catalonia stood at 81.4 in November 2025, representing an increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to October, but a decrease of 2.1 points compared to November 2024.
This Index is based on consumers’ assessment of the current situation compared to six months ago and their expectations for the next six months, considering three components: household economy, the labour market and the general economy.
The household economy confidence index stood at 93.8 in November, down 0.6 points compared to November and 3.8 points lower than one year earlier. Confidence in expectations for household economy was notable, as it stayed above 100 (102.1), an increase of 0.9 points compared to expectations in October.
The labour market confidence index fell both compared to the previous month (−0.7 points) and in year-over-year terms (− 5.3 points), standing at 76.3.
As for confidence in the general economy, the index came to 74.1, the lowest value of the three components in November. Despite this, it was the only component to record an increase in confidence both compared to October (7.0 points) and in year-over-year terms (2.8 points).
The assessment of the current situation compared to six months ago showed an index for Catalonia of 77.0 points, 1.0 point lower than the index for the previous month. This result was explained by the negative performance of two of the three components: the assessment index for household economy and that for the labour market decreased in relation to the month of October (−2.2 points and −5.3 points, respectively), while the assessment of the situation of the general economy improved by 4.6 points.
In year-over-year terms, confidence in both household economy and the labour market situation (with variations of 0.3 points and 0.1 points, respectively) remained practically stable, while the assessment of the current situation of the general economy recorded a year-over-year increase of 6.9 points.
With regard to the next six months, the Consumer Confidence Expectations Index in November recorded a value of 85.8, higher than that of the situation index (77.0), with a monthly increase of 4.7 points. This result reflected the positive performance of all three components: expectations for household economy (0.9 points), the labour market (3.7 points) and the general economy (9.3 points).
In year-over-year terms, i.e. compared to November last year, the three components worsened to varying degrees. Expectations for the general economy decreased by 1.4 points, while those for household economy and the labour market fell by 7.9 and 10.8 points, respectively.
