Government approves the 2026 Annual Statistical Action Programme

The Government has approved the 2026 Annual Statistical Action Programme (PAAE 2026) which includes all the statistical actions relevant to the Generalitat de Catalunya to be undertaken this year as part of the Statistical Plan for Catalonia 2017-2020, which has been extended. There are 309 actions programmed.

New this year, the Programme incorporates a set of new statistics aligned with the European innovation strategy, based on experimental operation such as the Consumer Confidence Index and the Territorial Wage Statistics. Also included as new features this year are the Population Survey (Housing) and the Maternal and Child Health Survey.

In addition, the Programme formalises the Catalan Classification of Products by Activity 2026 (CCPA-2026), which will update the 2014 Classification (CCPA-2014).

During 2026, as part of Idescat’s new Datalab service, a set of statistical actions will also be undertaken to promote the use of combined administrative and statistical data sources for research and the evaluation of public policies. These actions will be implemented in the Survey on the Use of Time, the Survey on Language Uses of the Population, the Survey on Living Conditions, the Statistics on Main Characteristics of the Population and the Survey on ICT Equipment and Use in Households.

In the PAAE 2026, the results of the Survey on Cybersecurity in Catalonia, the Barcelona Victimisation Survey, the Cultural Participation Survey, the Survey on Innovation in Companies, the Labour Market Reintegration Statistics, the Georeferenced Population Statistics and the Survey on the Health of the Population will be published.

In terms of fieldwork, in 2026 the following fieldwork will be conducted: the Economic Survey on Social Services, the Economic Survey of Home Care Services, the City of Barcelona Population Health Survey and the Survey on Risk Factors in Secondary School Students in the City of Barcelona. The following fieldwork will also be carried out: sections on the Current Entrepreneurial Situation; daily mobility surveys in El Camp de Tarragona, Les Terres de l’Ebre and the Lleida Area (Ponent); and the Weekday Mobility Survey.

When the 2026 Annual Statistical Action Programme is published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Catalonia, it will be available for consultation in the Statistical Plan for Catalonia section on Idescat’s website.
