New plenary meeting of the network of Central Statistical Bodies of the Autonomous Communities

The network of Central Statistical Bodies of the Autonomous Communities is holding another plenary meeting today in Madrid, chaired by the Director of the Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat), Àlex Costa. The network's Secretariat is composed of representatives from the Basque Statistics Institute (EUSTAT), the Statistical Institute of the Balearic Islands (IBESTAT), the Aragon Statistics Institute (IAEST) and Idescat, who met on the afternoon of 2 February in Madrid at the headquarters of the Government of Catalonia’s Delegation in Madrid.
The meeting addressed, among other topics, the progress of several technical working groups and the participation in new ones, as well as the updates related to the upcoming Statistics Days of the Autonomous Communities (JECAS), which will take place on 7 and 8 May 2026 in Barcelona.
The network of Central Statistical Bodies of the Autonomous Communities aims to strengthen coordination among the regional statistical bodies and to promote the development of joint initiatives that contribute to improving the provision of official territorial statistics.
