Statistics on Foreign Tourism. 12/2025 and year 2025. Provisional data

The number of foreign tourists arriving in Catalonia stood at 991.2 thousend in December 2025, which represents a year-over-year decrease of 7.3%. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came were France, Italy and Germany, with 195.4, 81.8 and 73.4 thousend tourists, respectively).

By reason for travelling, leisure trips, trips for other reasons (health, studies, family, etc.) decreased by 9.8% and by 14.8%, respectively, and business trips increased by 47.9%. As for the principal type of accommodation, hotels and similar increased by 13.1%.

In 2025, the number of foreign tourists arriving in Catalonia increased by 0.6% compared with 2024, and stood at 20.1 million, according to provisional data. By country of habitual residence, the countries from which the majority of tourists came, France, United Kingdom and the United States, registered decreases (0.3%, 1.5% and 5.3%, respectively).
